Before you ask

Is a little mold a big deal?

A little mold is usually the visible end of a moisture problem behind it. A patch the size of your hand can be the tail end of a long, slow leak. So we trace the moisture back to its source before we treat anything.

Do you just bleach it?

No, because bleach only lightens the stain and leaves the cause alone, so the patch comes back. We remove what the moisture ruined, repair the source, and dry the framing before the wall closes up.

Can you do it without tearing the whole room out?

Usually we can hold it to the section the moisture actually reached. We open that up, contain it with plastic, and leave the rest of the room alone.

Do we need to move out while you work?

We contain the work area behind plastic sheeting and keep the rest of the house clean while the wall is open. Whether to stay is your call; for the health question, ask your doctor or the health district.

Will insurance cover it?
